About

Assalamu alaikum,

Nice to meet you! I am your sister Asma, and I welcome you and your thoughts and opinions.

I am a teacher by profession, a student by default, and I hope to be a good servant of Allah (SWT) SWT.

I am now with the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), which is a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to establishing an integrated and contributive body of Muslims in Canada. May Allah (SWT) SWT guide us all.

I would love to know about the people reading this blog.

I stumbled upon your blog via link from Dr. Yaser Haddara.

JazakumAllah Khairan, for sharing your “personal” thoughts; myself, I am to shy to create a blog.

After reading your posts, it seems as though from an outsiders perspective (my apologies if I am wrong) that you are facing some hardship in your life. It is always a good reminder to remember:

“Verily with hardship comes ease; Verily with hardship comes ease.”

Below is an interesting article you might enjoy reading. The article deals with the topic of what constitutes a “successful” women.

Was’salamU Alaikum Wramatullah Wabrakatou.

wa ‘alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu,

Jazakum Allah (SWT) khair for your comments and reminders. I received the article. Alhamdulillah, I am not experiencing any hardship in my life right now. I am very happy alhamdulillah :)

Upon reflection, my posts may seem that way because they’re very reflective, and I guess reflection often happens at the most solemn times in life. I hope and pray that they’re of benefit to people, and that I can write some more lighthearted posts in the future isA.

All praise is for God, Lord of all the worlds.

Salams Asma. Great blog. I found the link in a MAC related email. I often think of joining or to be more accurate returning to the blogosphere. Unfortunately, my current blog has been horribly neglected (ylooks.blogspot.com). I think I’m clocking in one blog per year :p

But this site has me thinking. Perhaps I’ll start one before I begin grad school this fall. It may be fun to share with all my gradual loss of hair from self inflicted bouts of frustration as I spiral into the abyss of academic insomnia!

Thanks for your comment! I think you should return inshaa Allah (SWT), but not only to share your bouts of frustration; we need to hear your ideas! Ylooks has some great posts mashaa Allah (SWT). You should definitely keep it going, or come join the hadithuna community.
